Believe us when we say, we really, really want these depressing Robsten headlines to stop arriving in our inboxes/news feeds/brain-implanted gossip receptors. But as long as they come, it’s our job to report them, with a bit of a reality check, of course. Today’s comes from RadarOnline, which reports that the latest bit of collateral damage in the possible breakup is Bear, the mixed-breed dog that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart adopted from a shelter in New Orleans.
“After Rob moved his things out of their Los Angeles apartment, he then told Kristen he wanted Bear,” an insider reportedly told the gossip site. “She was heartbroken — they adopted Bear together and she always felt that he was their little baby.”
What’s true: Kristen did sort of call Bear “a baby” when Teen.com asked her whether he or her cat Max likes her best. And they did seem to share custody of the dog, as evidenced by the pics of her walking him. She is said to have “helped Rob save Bear from Parvo disease,” which, yes, we know he had the puppy illness. So we suppose the rest of the speculation is a foregone conclusion — whether or not any kind of “insider” had to spell it out.
We’ve all known pets who’ve suffered from their owners’ split, and it’s sad. But after the initial heartbreak, we’ve also known them to share custody quite nicely. And yeah, eventually, they move on to new pets all their own. In the end, Bear, Rob, Kristen — and yes, even you superfans — will all be just fine.
