Because love her or hate her, Mimi has legions of fans that love her just a smidge bit more than J.Lo. How much more? Well, if salaries are any indication, Mariah Carey’s fans love her enough to propel her past the money Lopez made in her second season of hosting American Idol. Reports are filtering down that Carey just signed on to host the television show for $18 million a season, which is $6 million more than what J.Lo pocketed for her first season, and $3 million more than what she took to the bank in her second season.
Not that we are counting or anything.
So what does this mean for American Idol? Well, I am no fortune teller, but I am of the opinion that this means J.Lo is most definitely out the door now. There’s no way in hell that those two divas are going to share the same stage. Secondly, guess whose side Randy Jackson would pick time and time again? After all, he is managing Carey and her signing on means that he is more than likely getting at least another season out of the show. So say goodbye Steven and Jennifer. But who will be the third judge? Janet Jackson? Adam Lambert? I’m thinking they don’t have enough money in their budget for that much glitter and sparkle and weaves!
