Should You Let Cheating Destroy Your Relationship - blog*spot

By Cramp Marlb

A break up can be caused by one indiscretion. In reality, more than a few celebrity split ups have been caused by unfaithfulness, even those partners that seem indestructible. It's not the infidelity per se but how the couple deals with the problems surrounding the disloyalty that break the relationship. Some couples don't want to turn into a victim of yoyo relationships. If you recognize yoyo diets, then you know what yoyo relationships are. One day the relationship is off and then the next day it's on again. Letting go of this cycle of pain may be very painful.

It might be true that cheating men have their reasons for emotionally and physically distancing themselves from their partners. There are different reasons why men and women emotionally cheat. The guy might be tired of all the mundane things that a long-term relationship brings. Maybe he is not getting enough excitement in his life. Indiscretion may be the only way he can feel alive again.

Figuring out what's going on inside your husband's brain can be torture. You also can't trust him anymore. Your spouse must be keeping something from you. The amount of trust has gone down and it might be a pain to try and rebuild it too soon after the transgression has happened. There can be times when only one partner wants to end the relationship. Maybe it's the woman, but sometimes it's the man that pulls the plug.

There may still be a lot of good in the marriage to save. A third party mediator might be useful for defusing bad scenarios like an argument. Couples go to relationship counselors to work on their differences and have a person that can objectively see what is happening give his or her perspective. It could be ironic that a third party was the reason for all the trouble in the first place and now a third party can help clear up the problem.

The question is: how to get past infidelity. The reality is that the couple has to take an extended break before they can see their relationship impartially. It may be insufficient to simply claim that the relationship is not working for you. At one point, one side is going to have to make a move. The effort must come from either the man or the woman. Preferably, the one that cheated will have to be the one to make the primary move. But the woman should also do some type of work to save the marriage. The woman must reflect on what she adored most about the man and zero in on this to save the relationship.

Partners inside a relationship should always attempt to grow together. The level of maturity may be completely different for the guy and the woman. Right now, they need to bring in their new level of development to the relationship.
