Chantelle Houghton from Essex is spotted showing how her break up with fiancé Alex Reid is affecting her, when she doesn’t look her normal self.
New Magazine UK reports: The typically groomed and polished Chantelle Houghton, 29, seemed washed out and was without her usual meticulously applied make-up and trademark false eyelashes.
An onlooker said, “Chantelle looked really sad and nothing like her usual glamorous self. It wasn’t nice to see her like that.” A source exclusively told new!, “Understandably, Chantelle has been feeling highly emotional. “The reality of the situation has really hit home because she and Alex have a child together and she feels very sad about how things have worked out.
“She never wanted to be a single mum, but she is strong and is determined to hold it together for Dolly’s sake. “At times she has been in floods of tears. But Dolly is helping to keep a smile on her face and she is her priority.” Chantelle also admitted to new! that she hasn’t had time to cook for herself properly, and has been comfort eating junk food. She told us, “I’m living on takeaways. I love Nando’s, Indian and Chinese food, pizza… I just don’t have the time to make dinners from scratch.”
Last Thursday, a large order of Domino’s Pizza and a bottle of Coke was delivered to her house as Chantelle had a night in with her mum Vivian. To add to her emotional turmoil, Chantelle now faces bringing up baby Dolly alone. Although Alex Reid told new! earlier this month he’s not exactly hands-on when it comes to looking after Dolly, admitting, “I only do ten per cent,” Chantelle has always wanted the three of them to be a little family unit. Even before she gave birth, Chantelle was resolute that she and Alex would work through their problems for their unborn baby’s sake
“They rearranged for 6pm on Thursday, so Chantelle cancelled plans so that he could see the baby, but he just didn’t show up and hasn’t made any contact since. “Instead, he’s been spending nights out and was spotted at a club in Woking last week. “On Thursday, when he was supposed to be seeing Dolly, he went to the gym instead in Aldershot.” But a source from Alex’s camp said, “Alex hasn’t seen Dolly because Chantelle dumped him publicly on Twitter and [he] has needed time to get his head around this.
“He misses Dolly like mad and can’t wait to see her once he and Chantelle have sorted out their differences.” Meanwhile, Chantelle is trying to keep her spirits up by focusing all her energy on Dolly. She told new!, “It’s been a very difficult week, as I’m sure people will understand. “It’s only been a matter of days since we split so it’s still very raw and I’m really, really upset.”
“I tried everything in my power to make my relationship work. I’ve been trying to keep myself busy with Dolly – after all, she is the most important one in all of this.” Although her friends and family are rallying round her, she’s clearly hoping Dolly will help her bounce back from her lowest ebb. “Dolly is my strength,” she explained earlier this month. “Nothing can break me as long as I’ve got her.” In yet another blow, Chantelle reacted furiously last week when a magazine claimed she had “set up” Alex’s arrest in the early hours of September 5.
She responded to the allegations using her Twitter account, tweeting that she is suing the magazine in question. She tweeted, “Im struggling enough without these disgusting allegations, I am pretty much on the floor right now.” Although she’s still in pain over the split from Alex, we hope Chantelle will be able to put the past behind her and move on with her life as soon as possible.
