Oooo, and that's one juicy slab of beef that just got served!
Since both British bands began winning the hearts and minds of Americans, the question stands: WHO is the 'bigger' band, and who will rule in the land of Yanks?!
While One Direction did bring home a slew of VMAs, The Wanted have slightly more edge and are proud that they don't simply stick to one genre of music… an offense they accused One Direction of during a recent radio interview!
In response to BBC radio host Chris Moyles implying 1D was the 'bigger' of the two bands, The Wanted's Tom Parker eventually responded:
"Our new single I Found You is a bit different. We like to mix it up. We try not to be stereotypical."
Ha!!
But THEN, apparently after hearing the interview, cougar hunter Harry Styles took to his Twitter in defense, tweeting:
"Chris Moyles' is actually right though… If 1D aren't in the picture, The Wanted would've been WAY more popular!"
Sadly, the tweet has since been deleted!
Aw you dudes! Not to worry though, because every great boy band must have a friendly rival, as history exemplifies!
Would *NSYNC have been quite as popular if Backstreet Boys weren't around to add the competition factor? And for you British boy band enthusiasts, you can't really have a Take That without Boyzone amping up the genre!
Just keep it civil boys…
