MK1 were one of the many bands and groups to be featured on tonight’s X Factor show.
The three piece group revealed that they wanted to be as big as N Dubz through their journey on the ITV show and taking to the stage in London earlier this year, the hopefuls delivered their own take on ‘Read All About It’ by Professor Green and Emeli Sande.
While the little female singer Charlie was great and the rapper was pretty decent, the second male vocalist – Will – was definitely off key and out of tune and when the song merged into Tinie Tempah’s ‘Written In The Stars’ his tunelessness shone through.
The judges seemed to notice it too and went between smiling encourgaingly when some of the members performed, to cringing when the talentless one took the lead.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
Tulisa: Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The good news is, that’s rap, the bad news is you are either going to have to become a duo or get another member. I am trying to listen to Charlie sing and I keep hearing you wailing over her and I can’t hear her beautiful voice. It was agitating me.
Nicole: Will, some of your notes were flat and she is a fireball, you need to be able to match her ok.
Louis: Charlie is the star, I was watching you the whole time. I love your energy, it was just fantastic.
Gary: Will you were like the band’s accountant who has come on stage for a song. It just doesn’t work, it really doesn’t, I think you should not be on stage with the band.
After the comments, Tulisa asked the group to take some time and discuss their future and after Will told them he still wanted a cut of any money they make in the future, they were prepared to let MK to go forward as a two.
As a result, the band got four yeses and a place in bootcamp.
