Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are separating after 30 years together. The former couple’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, announced the split to Entertainment Tonight. The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor and former Cheers star have three adult children together.
Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman have been a glowing example of an enduring Hollywood relationship for 30 years. Now the couple has announced they are calling it quits. I guess we now have to add the Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito divorce to our list of most disappointing celebrity breakups, which includes the sad news of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett breaking up last month.
Rhea Perlman, 64, and Danny DeVito, 67, met in 1970 after she saw him in an off Broadway production of The Shrinking Bride. Sparks flew immediately and the two moved in together only a few weeks later. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman married on Jan. 28, 1982 during a lunch break while they were both working on the TV series Taxi.
In addition to numerous shared television and movie projects, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman also co-founded Jersey Films, which has produced such hit movies as Garden State and Pulp Fiction.
