According to court papers leaked to The National Enquirer, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes state their marriage became broken back in February 2012. Also, it turns out their marriage was not legal until November 11, 2006, and not in the Italian ceremony which had taken place earlier that year. I can't remember when I first started writing that they had split, but they went from always being with Suri together to rarely being with her except for public events. I do still think Katie sandbagged Tom with the divorce and he probably thought they would work it out and work out some kind of payment which would keep them together, and I love that she sandbagged him. I love that she ran away and chose to walk away from all the luxuries he gave her to try and get control of her life again. I love that Katie Holmes is free. I wish that all people in her situation, no matter what the shackles are could run away and be free. Do you realize how happy she must be right now? She has her life and her kid and she has enough money to make sure Suri is taken care of while she tries to get some roles for herself to make sure she can have a solid future after Suri turns 18.
