Bethenny Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy split this passed December after a short marriage and one child. For years, they had denied that they were headed for divorce but on many occasions, Bethenny admitted that their marriage wasn't perfect. Still, it was shocking to most to see them part ways -- even to Andy Cohen whom worked closely with them for years.
"I was surprised," Andy revealed in a May 22 interview with E! News. "I mean, I heard rumblings…but I was surprised. I was such an advocate of the two of them. I loved them together."
Bethenny first met Jason while appearing on The Real Housewives of New York and once they got engaged, Andy signed them on for a wedding special which would be followed with two addition seasons of their own spin-off titled Bethenny Ever After. Fans were watching them from their dating years to marriage and to the welcoming of their first child.
"You saw them fall in love with each other on TV," Andy said. "So I rooted for them and loved them together."
As disappointing as the split is, Andy has complete faith in Bethenny and her strength to get through this heartbreaking time. "She's going through it," he states. "But she's a survivor."
